Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to all interstate removals booked with Furniture Removals of Tasmania, including any packing, unpacking or storage services that we agree to provide in writing.
Quotes
Our quote is based on the information available when we prepare it. This may include a list supplied by you, a home inspection, photos, and/or the meterage or cubic metres supplied by you.
Booking and Payment
A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking and reserve space on the truck.
The remaining balance must be paid on the day of pickup unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed with us in advance.
Quote changes
If the list, meterage, access, pickup or delivery details, or the services required on moving day are different from what was quoted, the price may be adjusted up or down on a pro-rata basis and extra charges may apply. If your home has not been inspected, the quote allows for standard-size furniture and standard moving boxes only.
Your information
You must give us accurate details about what is being moved, property access, stairs, lifts, parking, and any bulky, fragile, valuable or unusual items. You must also make sure that you or an authorised adult is present at pickup and delivery.
Items not to be moved unless agreed in writing
Please do not include cash, jewellery, passports or other ID documents, medicines, dangerous or flammable goods, gas bottles, fuel, or perishable food in the move unless we have agreed in writing beforehand.
Delivery times
Pickup and delivery dates are estimates only. Because interstate and backloading moves can be affected by traffic, weather, road closures, ferry or port delays, mechanical issues and other events outside our control, we do not guarantee exact pickup or delivery times.
If delivery cannot happen
If we cannot access the property, or nobody is there to receive the goods, we may place the goods into storage at your cost and charge for storage and re-delivery.
Insurance
Your goods are insured against fire, flood and theft, including events such as the transport vehicle being involved in an accident or the vessel carrying the goods sinking.
This cover does not include accidental damage to individual items during the move. Accidental damage cover must be arranged separately through an insurance provider.
If you have home and contents insurance, contact your insurer before the move, as some policies may cover your goods while they are in transit.
If your existing insurer does not provide transit cover, we recommend contacting CARTS Insurance. When requesting a quote, provide our business name, as our claims history may assist you in obtaining a more favourable rate.
Claims
Please inspect your goods on delivery. Visible damage should be noted before the driver leaves. Any hidden damage should be reported to us in writing as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Acceptance
By accepting our quote or booking your move, you agree to these terms.
